Tomato Gardeners Delight
Sow from January to early spring 1.5mm (1/16in) deep. Germination usually takes 6-14 days at 24-27C (75-80F).
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 9cm (3in) pots and plant out into growbags when large enough at 45cm (18in) apart.

Cabbage Greyhound
Sow from March to June. Sow 2 seeds per cell and thin out weakest seedling or thinly, 1cm (1/2in) deep in drills 23cm (9in) apart in soil that has been raked to a fine tilth.
When seedlings have 5-6 leaves transplant into ground, spacing 38cm (15in) apart each way. Water regularly, and hoe between rows to prevent weeds from getting established.

Rocket
Sow March to September outdoors, or all year on a windowsill. Sow seeds thinly, 13mm (½in) deep in drills 37cm (15in) apart in soil that has been raked to a fine tilth. Can also be sown in good seed compost on the windowsill or in containers on the patio. Sow at regular intervals for a fresh supply of leaves.
When large enough to handle thin seedlings to 15cm (6in) apart. Prefers any well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.

Basil
Sow in early spring under glass or on the windowsill. Sow seed thinly, 6mm deep, in trays filled with good compost. Can also be sown in good seed compost on the windowsill or in containers on the patio
Pot up when large enough to handle or plant out into open ground into a sunny, sheltered position.

Salad Leaf Lettuce Mix
Sow in February/March under protection, or March to August outdoors. Sow seeds thinly in rows, 13mm deep, allowing 30cm between rows.
Keep well watered. During warmer months cutting can commence after about 60 days.
Sow at regular intervals for a fresh supply of leaves.

French Marigold
Sow in February to April into a good seed compost. Cover the seed with compost and keep the soil moist. Germination usually takes 5-14 days.
When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant and grow in cooler conditions. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12in) apart in a sunny spot.

Carrot Nantes
Sow from late winter to mid summer in drills 1cm (½in) deep, spaced 30cm (12in) apart. As soon as the seedlings are large enough to handle, start thinning them out so that they are finally 10cm (4in) apart. Grow carrots in between rows of onions to help deter Carrot Fly.

Purple Sprouting Broccoli
Sow seeds in a well prepared seed bed in mid to late spring in drills 1cm (½in) deep spaced 30cm (12in) apart.
When the seedlings have four or five leaves transplant to their final quarters 75 x 75cm (30 x 30in) apart.
