Things to do - October

A good way to use up all the leaves lying around your garden is to create your own leaf mould.  This will help protect your soil over winter.

Spring bedding plants such as pansies should be planted in final flowering position.

It is good to divide up your herbaceous perennials when not actively growing and now is the best time.

Outdoor tomatoes need to come inside before the frost hits.  Pick any un-ripened fruit and place on sunny shelf to ripen.

On a sunny dry day harvest main crop potatoes using the Botanico Harvest Bag and store in the Botanico Vegetable Crop Storage Sack away in cool dark area of shed or garage.

Fruit bushes such as gooseberries and blackcurrant should be pruned using the Joseph Bentley Stainless Steel Bypass Secateurs after harvesting.

Grease band fruit trees to trap wingless female winter moths

Clean the greenhouse including the panels with disinfectant and insulate using Botanico Bubble Insulation.
